The International Technical Safety Forum is a forum to exchange state of the art ideas, processes, procedures and technologies in personnel, environmental, and equipment safety from a variety of high-energy physics and synchrotron radiation laboratories throughout the world. In 2017, the ITSF will be hosted by TRIUMF, in Vancouver, Canada. The ITSF will begin noon Monday September 18th and end noon Friday September 22nd 2017. Attendance will be limited to 80 participants. Plenary sessions will be held from Monday noon through Friday noon. Panel sessions on Incident Investigation/Lessons Learned and Training are planned to compare and contrast the approach taken at different laboratories. A tour of TRIUMF and isotope production facilities is planned for Tuesday afternoon.
The detailed agenda will be populated with sessions and talks as they are scheduled and available.
Registration and call for abstracts will open Monday April 10, 2017. Abstracts on the following topics will be considered:
- Incident investigation and Lessons learned
- Technical risks and Risk assessment
- Cryogenic / Laser Safety
- New projects and challenges (in-kind contributions)
- Environmental protection / Sustainability
- Safety culture and behaviour
- Continuous improvement in HSE matters
- Safety training, web-based-training
All attendees are encouraged to submit an abstract.
