Description
Large-scale projects like the European XFEL need a lot of preparation and planning in advance. A large number of legal requirements must be met. The supervisory authorities have to be informed and their needs satisfied to make the longstanding process as transparent as possible for them.
The German legislation brings with it both challenges but also opportunities to handle construction projects of these dimensions. It will be shown what you need to build and finally operate a free-electron laser in Germany and what tools and strategies can be used to manage the flood of legislation.
